Atomfjella is a dream place for skiers from all over the world.
The area is famous for its remoteness, steep mountainsides and fabulous peaks,
most of them are not yet climbed.
What is Svalbard?
Svalbard archipelago or Spitsbergen is situated inbetween mainland Norway and the North Pole. Numerous mountain ridges, hundreds of glaciers and long winter season make islands desirable destination for downhill as well as cross-country skiing. The interest is mainly focused on the coast line as more accessible. However, inland Svalbard has been less explored by skiers and still remain exotic and unique experience.
What makes us different
We are not sailors, we are skiers. Our expedition goes deep inland, where not everyone dares to explore and takes the sweetest part of Svalbard skiing.
SVALBARD SKIING
The vast area of Atomfjella is designed for advanced skiers. Mountains are steep, 1400 - 1700m high.

About the Atomfjella tour
Duration: 7 days
Minimum age: 18 years
Languages: English, Italian
What is included in the price
Transfer from/to hotel, snowmobile, fuel, warm snowmobile clothing, experienced guide with snowmobile, emergency and safety equipment, rescue insurance, camping equipment, all meals, overnights as described in the programm.
The participants are provided with the following gear: snowmobile boots, snowmobile suite, goggles, snowmobile gloves, balaclava, headwear and helmet. Make sure that you have enough warm clothing for long trips.
Not included
Flights, meals in Longyearbyen, beverages, passport and VISA expenses, personal travel insurance.
Daily Plan
Day 1
Pick up from a hotel in Longyearbyen. Tour and safety briefing. Preparations and packing of snowmobiles and sledges before dressing up for the trip. We drive eastwards, through Adventdalen and Sassendalen. If we are lucky we spot reindeers in this area. In the afternoon we approach the huge icy area of Lomonosovfonna and drive north over the glacier. After a while we see the Newton area and stop by Gallerbreen, in the Atomfjella area. Total distance is appx. 165 km. We unpack the snowmobiles and set our camp. The snowmobiles return to Longyearbyen the same day, and will pick us up again after 6 days. All dinners and overnights are in our big heated tents.
Day 2 - Day 6
We choose which peaks to climb from an enormous . Mountains in this area are from most routes on this trip will have big differences in altitude, up to 1200 meters. The daily routes are discussed with the participants and the guide together, depending on weather and snow conditions as well as the participants’ condition. On this trip we climb many mountains and possible Perriertoppen, the highest peak in Atomfjella.
Day 7
Clearing the camp area. The snowmobiles arrive from Longyearbyen to pick us up. We dress up for driving, pack our things on the sledges and start the ride back to Longyearbyen. Estimated arrival back in Longyearbyen is 20.00 and bring you to your hotel.

ALPINE SKIING IN VANMIJENFJORDEN
Spend 5 nights of your Svalbard holiday at our cosy cabin in Van Mijenfjord. From here we go on many day trips in this amazing landscape. Drop off and pickup by snowmobile.
